FAQs

Consignors

Q: What does Gear Grab get from all this?

A: To cover expenses, Gear Grab takes 30% of all consignment sales from the event. This is GOOD NEWS FOR YOU. Most consignment shops will take 40-50%, won’t let you set your own price, and can’t promise you hundreds and hundreds of possible buyers.

Q: What if I’m unsure about the quality of my gear?

A: If you’re really uncertain about a particular item, you should probably save that for your garage sale. We’ve laid out examples of Gear we think is acceptable and Gear we think is not. See how your stuff stacks up.

Q: Where do I bring my gear again?

A: After printing out your UPC codes and attaching them to your gear, bring everything to the parking lot at 9th & Bannock in Denver at the designated time.

Q: Can I mail my Gear to you?

A: The short answer: no. We’re going to have a single weekend where all the gear is dropped off, collected, inventoried, and stored before the actual event.

Q: What happens if I decide to not sell an item after I print the UPC code?

A: We file formal charges and have you arrested.  Just kidding! If you decide you want to hold onto that Wilson racket and give tennis another shot (it’s never too late), just sign on to your account and click “Deregister Item for Upcoming Event”. No big deal.

Q: How do I tag my gear?

A: See our Tagging Your Gear page.

Q: If I volunteer, can my mom, dad, siblings, and all related kin come to the presale with me?

A: To be fair to all of our volunteers…Husbands, mothers & friends, etc must earn their own pass to attend the presale. Or you could volunteer extra hours to earn an additional pass for them to shop early.  Or your husband can volunteer all of the hours for you.  Each volunteer pass must be earned, guests are not allowed at the volunteer presales.
